Investment Banking

The Richman Group and its affiliates have structured and sponsored real estate investment funds that have surpassed 500 properties acquired, and we are now focused on the objective of acquiring our 1,000th complex in the next few years. Our activities to date have placed the organization among the twenty largest residential property owners in the country. Through public and private offerings, the firm has raised billions of equity dollars that have been invested in real estate transactions.

Our properties are located in forty-seven states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and include a variety of locations: rural, suburban and urban. The properties include garden-style complexes, high-rise apartment houses, adaptive reuse of historic properties, and senior developments. We also specialize in working with not-for-profit organizations and all levels of government to finance and develop properties for populations requiring supportive services.

One characteristic that distinguishes The Richman Group from other real estate investment firms is our acquisition philosophy, which is based on the premise that reducing risk is a prime objective of our partners. Drawing on our diverse competencies, we actively work with developers during the project design and structuring stages to reduce investment risk for our investors while enhancing economic performance for our general partners, both for-profit and not-for-profit. Another significant way that we reduce investment risk is by rigorous due diligence, which includes a comprehensive review of the background of the developers, construction engineering, economic feasibility, seismic and environmental conditions and market analysis, all with the goal of a timely underwriting.
