Bio

Mr. Gonzales serves as Executive Vice President with The Richman Group Affordable Housing Corporation (“Richman”) and is located in the company’s Santa Monica, CA, office. He brings 20 years of experience in the affordable housing tax credit industry as both an investor and in tax credit syndication. In his current role, Mr. Gonzales is responsible for securing new institutional investor clients and ongoing investor relations with Richman, one of the top and most tenured affordable housing tax credit syndication firms in the industry.

Prior to joining Richman, Mr. Gonzales was Head of Investor Sales and Services with Hudson Housing Capital (“Hudson”), another top-tier affordable housing tax credit syndication firm. In this role, he secured 24 new investor clients into proprietary or single investor funds. These new clients closed over $1.5 billion of equity and brought in over $125 million of revenues to the firm, and his efforts helped grow the firm's annual syndication volume from $425 million to over $1 billion annually. He was also responsible for the development of the company’s marketing strategy and sales presentations.

Prior to joining Hudson, Mr. Gonzales served as the Manager of Investor Sales and Services for PNC Tax Credit Capital where he managed a ten-person team and was responsible for the development and sale of $100 million - $300 million annually in LIHTC institutional investments. Prior to joining PNC, Mr. Gonzales spent 10 years with Wells Fargo where he was primarily responsible for $150 million - $200 million annually in LIHTC investments and the management of a $1.3 billion LIHTC portfolio. He led the originations team and originated, underwrote and closed 40 affordable housing tax credit fund transactions valued at over $600 million. He also previously served on the Board of Governors of the Affordable Housing Investors Council (AHIC).

Prior to his work in the LIHTC industry, Rick Gonzales spent 10 years in government in Washington, DC. He served as a legislative aide in the U.S. House of Representatives and as a legislative advisor in the White House and the Office of the Vice President.
